“I had heard these guys were good, but I was unprepared for how good they actually are. I was struck speechless from the moment when they came on stage to the end of their show. It was like being taken back in a time machine.”
- Richard Blade (Iconic Los Angeles 80's music DJ. For VH1, KROQ, STAR FM and Sirius)
“I saw The Cure last year and I have to say that I enjoyed The Cured much more. They ARE The Cure in their 80's heyday. They play all the memorable hits that Robert Smith and the current version of The Cure won't do any more.”
- Robin Roth (popular San Diego DJ )
"Close your eyes and you might think you were listening to a Cure show, take a peek and you might think you were at a Cure show. Hauntingly close"
- Steve West (famous 80's radio personality -91x FM San Diego)
The purpose of a tribute band is to let a new generation experience the sights and sounds of the past, a moment in time that the original artist either can't or will not give a present day audience. If you were not able to experience a “The Cure” concert in the 1980's, you can now re-live one of the most exciting and influential acts of the decade by attending a performance by The Cured – The 1980's “The Cure” Experience.
The Cured is a Southern California based realistic rendition of the 80's super band The Cure. The band performs a true to era 1989 Cure concert complete with costumes, lights, effects and of course the songs. The show was a hit from its first performance in late 2005. Word spread rapidly that The Cured was exceptional amongst the many tribute bands performing today. Almost immediately The Cured was playing in the largest and hippest club venues in San Diego , Orange County , Los Angeles and Hollywood . Soon clubs from outside of California had heard about The Cured and were flying the band in to play sell-out shows with attendances well over 1000 people at each show. The band recently sold out House of Blues largest venue (4 th & B in San Diego ) with an attendance of 1637.
The Cured has now made the transition from being a Southern California band to becoming a national act. The band seems to have momentum reminiscent of Beatlemania when they first came out. The Cured is scheduled to start touring across the USA and abroad in June 2007. Scheduled cities include Phoenix , El Paso , Austin , Dallas , Long Island NY , New York City , Norfolk VA , Cleveland , Pittsburg , Charlotte NC, Raleigh NC , Myrtle Beach SC , New Orleans , Houston , Denver and Las Vegas .
The Cured readily attributes their success to the band they emulate….The Cure and the millions of rabidly loyal Cure fans out there.
Out of all the bands that emerged in the immediate aftermath of punk rock in the late '70s, the Cure was one of the most enduring and popular. The Cure became iconic in the MTV days of the 80's and is still one of the most beloved bands of the era. The Cure is not only enjoyed by those who lived through the 1980s, but has become a cult phenomenon amongst the college youth of today as well.
This is to say that any venue who books The Cured can count on exceptional attendance and customer satisfaction.
